Bonnie Piazza

Our loving mother, devoted wife of 53 years and friend to everyone she met, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018.

Bonnie Correen was born in San Francisco February 24, 1943 to Billy Wallace Cole and Shirley Fischer Cole.  At the age of 7 she moved to Lodi where she was raised by her mom and adoptive father Leroy Hoffman. Bonnie was raised in a loving home and maintained a fantastic relationship with her mother throughout her life. She graduated from Lodi High School 1961 and attended Wartburg College, Iowa.  She married her high school sweetheart, Terry Piazza August 24, 1964, together they raised their children Shaun, Michael and Shannon.  She devoted her life to her children, attending all their sporting events, spending summers at Chapel’s pool, and annual trips to Santa Cruz.  Her home was always full of children, a gathering place for her children friends, who always knew the door was open.   She was an excellent party planner, known for her annual holiday party, where she welcomed everyone with the same open door policy.

Bonnie embraced her job as a parent, grandparent and great grandparent.  Bonnie was a friend to everyone she met, she was always smiling, fun and encouraging.  Bonnie loved to travel.  She loved going to the coast and traveling abroad.  She looked forward to her annual trips with her girlfriends.  She was an early riser and an avid exerciser.  For over forty years, she could be seen walking at the crack of dawn with her girlfriends.  She was the family caregiver, a confidante to her friends, and was always lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Terry (May 21, 2017).  She is survived by her mother Shirley, children Shaun (Kathy), Michael (Christie), and Shannon Piazza-Meehan (Dr. John).  Grandchildren Daniel (Valerie), Hannah, Zachary and Kade Piazza, JP and Liam Meehan.  Step grandchildren Arianna Morelli and Aiden O’Neill.  Great grandchildren Tristan, Giovanni and Sophia Piazza.

Service will be held Friday, January 19 at 11am at Emanuel Lutheran Church
